Dhanteras, also known as Dhanatrayodashi, marks the beginning of Diwali and is one of the most auspicious occasions to seek blessings for wealth, prosperity, health, and wellbeing.

This sacred day also celebrates Dhanvantari Jayanti, honoring Lord Dhanvantari, the divine physician and an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, revered as the God of Ayurveda, healing, health, and longevity.

According to Vedic tradition, both Goddess Mahalakshmi and Lord Dhanvantari emerged during Samudra Manthan (the Churning of the Cosmic Ocean). Goddess Lakshmi represents wealth, prosperity, abundance, and good fortune, while Lord Dhanvantari appeared holding the sacred Amrita (nectar of immortality), symbolizing health, healing, and longevity.

Together, they represent two of life's greatest blessings: good health and lasting prosperity.

On this sacred occasion, a special Sri Mahalakshmi & Dhanvantari Homa will be performed during the auspicious Pradosh Kaal to invoke the blessings of both deities.

The Homas will be performed with your Sankalpa, seeking blessings for financial prosperity, relief from obstacles, physical and emotional wellbeing, protection, family happiness, and long-term stability.

Why Sri Mahalakshmi & Dhanvantari Homa on Dhanteras?

Sri Mahalakshmi Homa – Wealth & Prosperity

Goddess Mahalakshmi is worshipped as the divine source of wealth, abundance, good fortune, and auspiciousness.

Dhanteras is traditionally considered one of the most important occasions to welcome Her blessings into our homes and lives.

The Sri Mahalakshmi Homa invokes Her grace through sacred mantras and offerings into the Homa fire, seeking blessings for financial growth, business success, relief from money-related difficulties, prosperity, and household happiness.

Performing Lakshmi worship during Pradosh Kaal, the sacred period after sunset, is considered especially auspicious for welcoming prosperity and good fortune.

Sri Dhanvantari Homa – Health, Healing & Longevity

Lord Dhanvantari is revered as the divine physician, the God of Ayurveda, and an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

According to sacred tradition, He emerged from the cosmic ocean holding the pot of Amrita, the nectar of immortality, representing divine healing, rejuvenation, and longevity.

Dhanvantari Jayanti is a sacred occasion to seek His blessings for good health, protection from illness, recovery, physical strength, mental wellbeing, and long life.

The Sri Dhanvantari Homa invokes Lord Dhanvantari through sacred mantras and offerings into the Homa fire, with prayers for healing, vitality, protection, and the wellbeing of your loved ones.

It is especially meaningful for those seeking divine support during health challenges, recovery, or periods of physical and emotional difficulty.
